Why We Built This Site
Florida keeps most jail and inmate information open to the public. The hard part is not access, it is direction. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office runs the local jail roster, which lists people held before trial and those serving short county sentences. The Florida Department of Corrections runs a separate locator for sentenced state prisoners. Federal prisoners and immigration detainees show up in still other systems. We gather those rosters and locators, along with facility contacts, visitation rules, and the steps for a records request, so the right tool is easy to reach in one visit.

Only the Sheriff's Office or the corrections department can confirm a current custody status, the charges, or a release. We can point you to the right roster, but the official answer always comes from them.
